Romans 8:28
As I think back over the year of 2011, it was a year of challenges, disappointments, trauma, tragedy, and thankfulness. In Fayetteville North Carolina we experienced tornados that went through communities that changed many lives within moments. Many of us experienced disappointments and even frustration with ministry this year. Some of us experienced trauma as loved ones loss their lives and property due to the floods in the Philippines. 2011 was a challengimg year, but despite the disappointments, despite the tragedy, despite the trauma, there is a spirit of thankfulness. This spirit of thanksgiving arises within us because we know, we don't think, and we know all things work together for good to those who love God, and are the called according to His purpose. So even though some of what we experienced did not feel good in 2011, it's working together for our good, if we are children of God. So as we prepare to enter into 2012, enter with the spirit of thanksgiving and prepare for spiritual warfare and for great opportunities...
God Bless You...

LUKE 2:7
And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths,
and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
It's that time of the year again when people are off shopping and gathering gifts to give to loved ones and even some that they are not at all fond of. It's the Christmas holiday season. Even though it is unlikely that Christ was born on December 25th, it is a day that the world has set aside to celebrate His birth. The sad thing is that if it's his birthday celebration why does it appear that many have no room for Him. Many make room in their schedule to go to holiday parties, they go over budget to buy gifts for those who weren't even born on the 25th, and don't even bother to thank the Christ of Christmas for His goodness. During this holiday season don't get caught up in the hipe. Make room for the Savior in your life. Let His will and the advancement of His kingdom be the priority. This holiday season give the gift that keeps on giving Jesus!

Today, there are many opportunities for the people of God to waste time, lose focus, compromise, and be distracted by the enemy. However when I look at the book of Nehemiah I see something that is encouraging. I see a man of God who chose to be God centered and dedicated to the work of the Lord, despite the negative opportunities I spoke of previously. Nehemiah was presented with discouraging information regarding his people and the walls in Jerusalem. The walls had been torn down and so had the people. A rebuilding project needed to take place in Jerusalem for the purpose of rebuilding the wall and rebuilding the people. Nehemiah after fervent prayer took on this mission and in the face of despair and opposition refused to give into distractions, naysayers, compromise, or foolishness but instead mobilized the people and did a mighty work for the Lord in just 52 days. Nehemiah refused to come down from what God had called him to. Have you continued in the word of God or are you distracted? Tell the enemy, compromise, distractions, and procrastination that “I am doing a great work and I will not come down.”
